The headline for this year’s “Post 200″ a Washington Post review of the top 200 companies in the Washington, DC area read like this:  ”In the Washington region, the biggest businesses got a little smaller in 2012.” Combine that with the impact of the Sequester on the local economy, and it would seem talent acquisition wouldn’t be a priority for executives. But the local job market is still one of the most challenging and robust in the entire country. Now more than ever, those organizations that have the hire and retain the best talent are those that win.  VP, OD & Chief Talent Officer - BAE Systems

Bridgette A. Weitzel is the Vice President of Organization Development and Chief Talent Officer for BAE Systems. In this role she is responsible for the culture, organization development, talent management, diversity and inclusion, and leadership development efforts globally.

Prior to joining BAE Systems, Bridgette was the Chief Human Capital Officer for Fannie Mae where she was responsible for working
with the company’s senior management to design, develop, and implement the overall human capital strategy, including culture transformation, talent management and succession, promotion and selection assessment, leadership development, organization design, and cross-functional teaming.

Additional executive experience includes leading the executive, learning, and organization development functions for Dell Computer Corporation, the MITRE Corporation, MCI, and Bell Atlantic as well as leading HR for Celera Genomics and Genentech R&D.

Weitzel has a bachelor of arts in business, a master of science
in organization development from the University of Pennsylvania, and an Education Specialist degree from The George Washington University.

Jeff Perkins, Chief People Officer - NPR

Jeff Perkins is Chief People Officer at NPR. He has led the transformation of the human resources team from a more transactional approach to a business partner model, helped hire many of NPR's top executives and developed and implemented a new talent management strategy. Perkins was also instrumental in overseeing key aspects of NPR's 2013 move to the new state-of-the-art headquarters.

Prior to NPR, Perkins worked at Huntbridge, Inc., a human resources consulting firm he founded. Throughout his career Perkins has worked in North America and Europe for several major media organizations. He served as Senior Vice President of Human Resources at Fox Interactive Media, a division of News Corporation. Prior to Fox, Perkins held several increasingly responsible positions at Time Warner, including Senior Vice President of Human Resources. Perkins managed significant changes and expansion throughout AOL's European business, including complex issues related to the Time Warner merger. Before Time Warner, Perkins led staffing in North America for AC Nielsen and later became Director of Human Resources for Nielsen International in Europe.

Perkins holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Wabash College and a Master of Science in Organization Development from the School of Public Administration at American University. He serves on the Wabash College Board of Trustees, and he has been an adjunct professor at American University. He is currently pursuing a dual degree Global Executive MBA in the Georgetown-ESADE program via McDonough School of Business.

Melody Jones, Chief Administrative Officer - CEB

Melody L. Jones is the firm's Chief Administrative Officer. From December 2005 until 2012, she served as the firm's Chief Human Resources Officer. Ms. Jones has firmwide responsibility for Human Resources, Information Technology, Legal and Compliance, Communications, Philanthropy, and the Member Meetings department.  She is also responsible for managing CEB's Professional Services business, which delivers employee engagement assessments, development experiences for emerging functional leaders, and sales force effectiveness diagnostics and services.

Prior to assuming her current position, Ms. Jones served from 2002 to 2005 as the Human Resources Director for T. Rowe Price, a global investment management firm. In this capacity, she had overall responsibility for the global Human Resources function. Prior to joining T. Rowe Price, Ms. Jones spent eight years at Aon Corporation, a Fortune 50 insurance brokerage and consulting company, serving from 1998-2002 as the Chief Human Resources Officer. She joined Aon in 1994, as head of the Midwestern Regional Office of Aon Consulting. In 1996, she assumed responsibility for the HR Strategy and Technology consulting practice, and managed this global practice until assuming her role as CHRO for the corporation. Ms. Jones also served as a senior consultant with Organizational Dynamics, Inc., and held several leadership positions across a six-year tenure with Citicorp Mortgage.

Ms. Jones holds a Master of Fine Arts degree and a Bachelor of Music degree, both from Southern Illinois University. She has also completed post-graduate work in Organizational Psychology at the University of Missouri.

Angie Mannino, SVP HR - Inova Health Systems

Angie Mannino is SVP of HR for Inova Health system.  Angie is an accomplished HR executive with over 20 years of experience who understands how to develop human capital, instill strong cultural values and enhance organizational effectiveness.  Past experience includes executive sales management for a large global consumer goods manufacturer, as well as a variety of executive level human resources roles.

While in the role of Vice President of HR, Culture and Change, Angie was responsible for the successful cultural integration due to the merger between Brown and Williamson Tobacco Co. and R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co, which resulted in the newly formed company exceeding all financial goals.  Responsibilities included HR strategy development and planning, a new high performance rewards structure, a new leadership development plan, and corporate culture change initiatives.  Angie developed all culture strategies and tactics to create a new “high performance” culture.  Additionally, Angie developed and implemented a change plan to ready employees for changes related to the new company & new culture.
